1. Complete your (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online.

Note: Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ's School code is 005265

This can be completed as soon as October 1 of the year preceding enrollment.  We recommend the applicant and parent (if required) utilize the Data Retrieval Tool to transfer income tax directly from the IRS into the FAFSA.  This can help to eliminate errors and confusion during submission of the FAFSA.

Students selected for verification must submit documents requested by Fort Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Tech | NC's financial aid office to validate entries on the submitted FAFSA. Submit documents within two weeks of mailed request.

2. After Fort Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Tech | NC receives your completed FAFSA or all of your verification documents, an Award Letter is sent from the financial aid office indicating the federal aid that the student is eligible to receive.

* If you do not receive an Award Letter within 30 days after submission of FAFSA, contact the Financial Aid Office at the college.

3. The college will solicit eligible federal grant funds, Stafford loans and PLUS loans based on student eligibility and accepted amounts indicated on the Award Letter.

Students seeking Stafford subsidized or unsubsidized loans for the first time must complete a with Direct Loans.

A parent seeking a PLUS (Parent Loan for Undergraduate Student) loan must complete a with Direct Loans.

The master promissory note authorizes the college to secure funds in your name through the Direct Loan program.

Before students receive Stafford loan funds for the first time from Fort H;ays Tech | North Central, they must complete .

Note: Funds are not disbursed until 30 days after classes start. In order to receive subsequent disbursements of federal student aid, student must maintain enrollment and demonstrate satisfactory academic achievement (GPA 2.0 or better).Fees are collected on a semester basis, and Financial Aid Disbursements are made also on a semester basis.

Students who have received Stafford loans while attending NCK Tech must complete prior to graduation. This process provides information about repayment options and contact information for the student and loan servicer.

1. If I apply for admission to one affiliate institution, do I also need to apply again to attend a different affiliate in the future?
   
   Students will need to apply online at  for each new program or individual course they are interested in. Students who have previously taken courses at any of the affiliate institutions will not need to repay the one-time $50 application fee at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ.
    
2. How will I be billed for balances due on my student account?
   
   Students will be billed electronically through their Student Portal following registration in their courses. Email notifications will be sent informing students of their balance due, payment options, and deadlines.
    
3. How do I make payment on my student account?

Students can make payments online through their Student Portal or by calling 1-800-658-4655.  Cash and check payments are also accepted.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ offers payment plans and accepts different types of agency funding. Please contact the Student Accounts office at 785-738-9061 for more information.

4. How & when do I receive my 1098-T tax form?

1098-T forms will be mailed to the student’s billing address on file by January 31 of each year. Please contact the Student Accounts office at 785-738-9061 with questions. 

5. Where do I send third-party payment authorizations, 529 plan payments, or community scholarships?

Scholarships, 529 plan payments, and third-party payments may be sent to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, PO Box 507, Beloit, KS 67420. 

6. Can I receive Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Employee/Spouse/Dependent Tuition Assistance?

If you, your parent , or spouse is employed by Fort Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ State University, Fort Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Tech | Northwest, or Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, a tuition waiver is available. You or your parent or spouse will complete the appropriate form through their employer by the deadline for each term.

7. When is financial aid disbursement and how will I receive my refund of excess aid for books and supplies?

Financial aid disbursement occurs 30 days after the start of each semester with additional disbursements occurring once per month. Students may receive their refund of excess aid by direct deposit. If no direct deposit information is provided, the refund will be mailed by check to the billing address on file.

8. How do I determine which affiliate institution school code to use on the FAFSA?

Students attending Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ should use FAFSA code 005265. 

9. How do I setup a Consortium Agreement of taking courses at multiple affiliate institutions?

If a student is taking courses at one or more of the school locations they can contact the Financial Aid Office of the school where they will COMPLETE the degree.  The office staff will walk students through the process of receiving aid for the courses taken at the other locations through a consortium agreement and provide the necessary forms.
